Most of what a company says about itself cannot be checked. This page collects the things about Jet Rescue that can be — awards judged by others, records reported by the trade press, and regulatory decisions made by civil aviation authorities. Every claim below links to its source.

Air Ambulance Company of the Year, 2019

Jet Rescue Air Ambulance was named Air Ambulance Company of the Year at the ITIJ Industry Awards 2019, sponsored by Verisk. The award is judged and announced by the International Travel & Health Insurance Journal, the trade title read by the insurers and assistance companies that authorise medical transport. Winners that year in other categories included AIG Insurance, Allianz Partners and Bangkok Dusit Medical Services.

The longest civilian ECMO transport ever flown — completed twice

In August 2020 Jet Rescue flew a patient on ECMO from Monterrey, Mexico to Seoul, South Korea: 6,500 miles, 21 hours, with the ECMO circuit running throughout. It was the longest ECMO transport ever completed by a civilian air ambulance programme.

Three months later the team did it again. In December 2020 a 58-year-old man in respiratory and cardiac failure following COVID-19 was flown from Clinica OCA in Monterrey to the National Medical Center in Seoul. Dr Victor Cervantes, Jet Rescue's Medical Director, described it at the time as the second such transport in three months.

Both missions were reported independently:

Independent coverage

Regulatory standing

Jet Rescue has been a member of the Association of Air Medical Services since 2011.

International missions are flown on the company's own aircraft, operated by MED JETS S.A. de C.V. under Mexican air operator certificate AOC MTS/2015, renewed on 05/21/2025 following an audit conducted by fifteen inspectors of the Agencia Federal de Aviacion Civil. United States operations specifications under 14 CFR Part 129 are current as of 03/03/2026. Aircraft XA-EMT was added to both authorities.

Domestic flights within the United States are operated by licensed FAA Part 135 direct air carriers and arranged by Med Jets USA Inc., an indirect air carrier authorized under U.S. Department of Transportation Order 83-1-36, 99 C.A.B. 801 (1983).

The accident of 31 January 2025

On 31 January 2025 an air ambulance operated for Jet Rescue was involved in a fatal accident in Philadelphia. The National Transportation Safety Board investigation remains open and no probable cause has been published; its findings should not be presumed in advance of the final report.

What can be stated is what the civil aviation authorities did afterwards. The Mexican air operator certificate was renewed on 05/21/2025, four months after the accident, following an audit by fifteen AFAC inspectors. United States Part 129 operations specifications were renewed on 03/03/2026.
