Why most air ambulances can't reach Port-au-Prince, and we can

Since November 2024, the US FAA has barred US air carriers, US-registered aircraft and FAA-licensed pilots from operating below 10,000 feet over Port-au-Prince and large parts of southern and central Haiti. The current notice runs through March 2027. That rules out most US-based air ambulance providers for patients in the capital and surrounding regions.

Jet Rescue operates Mexican-registered aircraft that are not subject to this restriction, so we can land at Port-au-Prince and fly your patient directly out, with no ground transfer across the country and no intermediate stop.
